After a coat of paint and moving some furniture around we've revamped the dining room. This beautiful room was already light and airy but it is even more roomy now with the new layout. Guests can still enjoy their own table at breakfast or evening dinner whilst still being able to enjoy the company of other guests. We've taken down the old photographs and replaced them with simple, tasteful prints that emphasise the colours in the room.

Have you seen them? The sort of spectacle that everyone should see at least once. For generations, children and adults alike have been entranced by the spellbinding seafront spectacle which bathes the promenade with more than a million magical bulbs in a shimmering sea of light. The greatest free light show on earth has been a major part of Blackpool’s attraction scene since 1879 when they were described as ‘artificial sunshine’.

The annual Illuminations display is to be extended by two months for the third consecutive year to provide an invaluable boost to the resort’s tourism season after the effects of COVID-19. It's a wonderful opportunity to experience miles of festoon, larger-than-life tableaux, illuminated trams, instagrammable features, laser technology and stunning projection shows during the dark winter months.

2022 Dates: 13th & 14th August 2022

The free event, which attracts up to 100,000 visitors, has been cancelled for the past two years because of COVID restrictions on mass gatherings.
But VisitBlackpool has announced that the show will return for 2022 with some of the world’s finest military and civilian aircraft performing over the iconic seafront.

To complement the aerial programme, there will be plenty to see and do on the ground with a wide range of stalls, attractions and food concessions in the Air Show Village on the Tower Festival Headland.

Further details of the air show programme will be released in the early part of next year.

Back with a bang this September! The dates for the World Fireworks Championship Blackpool 2022 have been revealed. The event will gather together the crème de la crème of the world’s firework elite and promises a mouth-watering series of shows with jaw-dropping entertainment for all the family - a great opportunity for visitors to take an extended weekend break.

For 2022, the stunning displays, which are set to music, will take place once again over the beach in front of The Blackpool Tower. All of them are free to access.

Due to the popularity of the World Fireworks Championship Blackpool, there may be traffic delays arriving and leaving the event. Take extra time to arrive and we would recommend if travelling by car to park in the southern car parks and use the tramway to travel to the event. Alternative public transport via the rail systems and buses are also recommended.

More experiences include ringing Phoebe’s bell outside the mall and re-enacting the iconic Thanksgiving floating heads scene. Mirror, Mirror on the wall… What’s the greatest panto of them all? Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs at Blackpool’s Grand of course…

This year’s pantomime will star Vicky Entwistle (Coronation Street) as the Wicked Queen, and Grand Panto favourite Steve Royle (Britan’s Got Talent, Comic, Presenter) returns as Muddles, to make his annual appearance. The cast also includes Jamie Steen as Nurse and Chris Warner-Drake as Prince Frederick.

The Blackpool Grand Theatre pantomime will burst with great songs, stunning dance routines and plenty of laughter, this is a truly magical treat for all the family you won’t want to miss!

Aladdin

Aladdin is one of the most magical pantomimes ever written. It tells the story of a streetwise boy from Peking who finds a strange lamp at the market with hidden powers.

But the wicked wizard Abanazar wants to steal Aladdin’s magic lamp to help him become the most powerful wizard in the world. He also wants to kidnap the beautiful Princess and make her his bride!

Follow Aladdin’s adventures as he gets entangled in the struggle between good and evil.

Blackpool's award-winning Lightpool Festival is returning this October half-term with two weeks of extraordinary free entertainment.

The festival, which will take place between October 18 and 30, boasts amazing light-based art installations from national and international artists.

Over the years, the World Fireworks Championship Blackpool has become one of the resort’s biggest draws.

For 2021, the event will take place with revised dates and a new launch-pad.

The stunning displays, which are set to music, will take place over the beach in front of The Blackpool Tower on alternate Saturday evenings starting on September 11 and continuing on September 25, October 9 and October 23.

The countries that will compete for the title in 2021 are Germany, Russia and Ireland, with the fourth Saturday a showcase event by one of Europe’s leading fireworks companies, Titanium.

The Ride The Lights event is one of the most magical nights in Blackpool’s calendar when, for one night only, the six miles of Promenade will be closed to give thousands of cyclists an opportunity to get a sneak preview of the Illuminations before the official switch-on later that week.

Bikes of all shapes and sizes take advantage of the traffic-free route in a free event that is suitable for all ages.

First acts announced for this year's Switch-On.

We can now reveal details of some of the performers who will take to the stage at this year’s Blackpool Illuminations Switch-On concert.

2020’s biggest breakthrough artist, KSI, will perform in the world-famous Blackpool Tower Ballroom on the night of Friday 3 September to mark the start of a four-month extended Illuminations season. KSI will join the stage with his special guests Digital Farm Animals and music artist and producer S-X.

Few UK pop artists have made such an instant commercial impact as Staffordshire-born Wes Nelson, who will also join this year's line-up. Capitalising on his popularity after stints on Love Island and Dancing On Ice, Wes’s Gold Certified debut single See Nobody stormed up the UK charts reaching number 3 and achieving over 70m streams.

Shirley Ballas, one of the world’s most accomplished dancers and now head judge on BBC One’s Strictly Come Dancing, will pull the switch, triggering the start of a four-month extended Illuminations season. The evening is produced in association with MTV, and the show will be hosted by TV and radio presenter Becca Dudley.
